Harm Reduction and Recovery Support
At EmpowerBridge Alberta Society, we are committed to providing compassionate, non-judgmental support for individuals affected by substance use. We recognize that substance use exists along a spectrum and that each person’s journey is unique. Our harm reduction and recovery services are designed to promote safety, reduce risk, and support individuals in achieving stability and wellbeing, regardless of where they are in their journey.

Evidence-Based Harm Reduction Services
Harm reduction is an evidence-based approach that focuses on minimizing the negative health, social, and legal impacts associated with substance use, rather than imposing abstinence. Through these services, we aim to protect lives, empower individuals to make informed decisions, and foster safer communities.
Our harm reduction services include:
-
Overdose Prevention Education
Providing information and training on recognizing and responding to overdoses, including how to use lifesaving interventions effectively. -
Naloxone Distribution and Training
Supplying naloxone kits and teaching individuals, families, and community members how to safely administer this life-saving medication in the event of an opioid overdose. -
Safer-Use Information and Supplies
Offering education on safer consumption practices, hygiene, and reducing the risk of infections or injury associated with substance use. -
Educational Materials and Resources
Providing accessible information to increase awareness of substance-related risks, health resources, and available support systems in the community.
